7/17/2019 1 Comment July 17, 2019 During yoga this morning, I taught a sweet and gentle lunar practice with the intention of SLOWING DOWN. Too much of our lives are spent rushing from one thing to the next, hurrying to get our errands done, rushing to complete our work or to drive from point a to point b (as fast as possible) often consumed with endless thoughts. How many times have you driven to your destination and had no idea how you got there or been so busy that you haven't made any time to truly connect with your children, significant other or animals. We are so conditioned to get to where we need to be and as fast as possible that a little traffic or construction in our path can ruin our entire day. This is the time when we need to take a deep breath, connect and be thankful for a little time to just be! Going a million miles per hour, seven days a week is not truly living. Practicing some kind of self care every single day whether it be yoga, mediation, being in nature, reading or walking the dog, is essential for both mental and physical health. It is only when we are present that the magic in our lives can unfold, it is where opportunity and creativity exists. When we take the time to slow down, quiet our minds, breathe and truly connect with our inner being we develop a deeper understanding of who we really are.
